BYE EVENTS

BYE EVENTS is the one stop Event Consulting / Planning Company for any occasion; whether your event is a small family gathering to a 50,000 people multi-day event, the TEAM at BYE EVENTS is the team you are looking for.
Although BYE relies on sub-contractors to produce these events, our vendor contact list is impressive and continuing to grow.
Ray Gibb, while attending culinary school in Washington DC, decided to take a challenge by one of his instructors; the instructor said, "If you truly want your own food service business, and you have 5 dimes and a friend or two that you can call, you can have a lucrative business." I did what he suggested, I called a buddy that had told me that he had gotten picked to plan and put on a couple of cocktail parties for some politicians and business associates. We discussed what he was looking for, I told him that I would call him back in a couple of hours with some prices and menu ideas, well so far so good.
I then went through some recipe books from school, got some great hot & cold hors-durves ideas (not very expensive, but presentation could make it look like any of the great hotels could do for them, found a great room at a reduced rate about five minutes from their office, great wine list, and costing for high end liquor for the bar. In about four hours, and $1.00 worth of dimes (and a couple gallons of Denny's coffee) I had a bid for my buddy. I called him gave him the breakdown, and my first party was booked.
During the party, a couple approached me and asked me if I did private events, such as a sweet sixteen birthday party? I said that I will put together an event for whatever purpose. He gave me his business card, wrote his phone number on the back and asked me to call them in the next few days. This is where my upbringing came into play, I asked the Host who the couple was, and got their address. After cleaning up, I went to my car and headed home. I stopped at the drug store, grabbed some thank you cards, and some note paper. I stopped back at Denny's (my office) got some coffee and wrote out thank you cards to my buddy, his boss, and a few other people at the office. Then I wrote one out for the couple that had approached me, adding a note that was written on the note paper. I told them that budget was not a problem and that they could have an event that their daughter would remember the rest of her life. I finished up my coffee and headed home, stopping at the mailbox on the way.
Three or Four days later, I got a phone call from the couple, they said that they had a budget of XXX and their daughter was looking for a particular look and theme. The theme just happened to be a theme that I knew would be no problem, and the decorating itself would be about 1/4 of what I had initially anticipated. When I walked out of their home the night of the party after cleaning up etc., I was handed a check, I asked what it was for, as I had already been paid, and he said, "Consider it a tip." I headed home and looked at the check on the way, it was for the remaining amount of their budget, and we had only spent 3/5 of the budget.
Well, as they say the rest is history. I did this for awhile, but did not like working with Politicians, and seeing the waste of money. So I closed it up and moved on to my next adventure, always remembering what I had done, and what I can accomplish when I want, so I ventured out to expand my horizons so that when the time came I would have the knowledge, experience, and maturity to take all my training and put it into the most fantastic Event Planning Service in The OC.
